United Authors Publishers Co-op (UAPC)

We are a cooperative group of professionals in the publishing industry (authors, editors, printers, publicists, graphic designers, webmasters, social media experts, image consultants, photographers, attorneys, etc.).  Our aim is to compile a resourced group of professionals who are interested in the success and profitability of fiction and non-fiction authors.

The Traditional Publishing Model

In the traditional publishing model, anyone who touches the book is treated more like a product than a person.  Very few authors actually get anointed with a publishing contract and an advance.  The “lucky” ones who end up with a publishing deal lose creative licensing and are “told” not to expect to make money from their books.  Other publishing professionals have no control over with whom they work or on what projects they work, and they are often over-worked to boot. Their pay is also limited to a “salary” and offers no incentives for ingenuity, creativity and hard work.

At United Authors Publishing Cooperative (“Co-op”), we aim to place control of the creative process, and keep the profits, squarely in the hands of the people who are creating the final product.

For authors, we have devised a tried and true formula for publishing your book, and giving it the best possible positioning for success in the marketplace.  You don’t know what you don’t know – and we do.  There are huge potential costly pitfalls in traditional and self-publishing that you can avoid by following our straightforward, step-by-step model.

Author Support

For multi-disciplinary publishing professionals, we provide a network of collaborative members who make up the product launch team.  You will have a featured bio on our website and be listed as a preferred provider.  Being a member of the Co-op gives you access to a potentially unlimited pool of clients, and may eliminate your need for new business development entirely.

Some of our professionals may include editors, ghost writers, book doctors, photographers, graphic designers, web designers, attorneys, publicists, marketing & advertising experts, social media experts, video & media trainers, sales reps, account managers, booking agents, and vendor alliances.

Co-oop Membership

Like any co-op, the business is owned by its members.  There is a one-time buy-in of $5,000 for one share.  In addition, there is an annual dividend, which returns 10% of the member’s eligible purchases through the Co-op back to the member.
